Nebraska Business Use of Information Technology
Nebraska citizens and businesses are about to hit 'critical mass' on the use of Internet technologies. Once that 'critical mass' is hit, there is likely to be profound implications to business and commerce as electronic alternatives become the norm for numerous business operations and social activities," states this report  conducted by the Applied Information Management Institute in cooperation with UNL's Center for Applied Rural Innovation. This report by the National Research Council discusses what information technology skills and knowledge individuals need to be fluent in information technology.

The Digital Workforce:  Building Infotech Skills at the Speed of Innovation
Employment in core IT occupations--computer scientists and engineers, systems analysts, and computer programs-- has grown six times faster than the overall U.S. job rate for more than 15 years.   This report by the U.S. Department of Commerce recommends steps key stakeholders can take to address this issue.  (PDF document).
